I'll dominate 'credible combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua
Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight round fight which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the pair met personally to promote next month's heavyweight fight.
Former two time world title holder Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami Kaseya Center on December 19th.
Fighter's Mentality
"I plan to damage his features and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," the British boxer, 35 years old, stated.
"I will dominate him completely. That's how fighters think.
"I will really want to cause him pain. That's my goal."
Civil Exchange
Despite these statements, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - normally recognized for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.
Jake Paul rather attacked former Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian turned down a fight offer.
Targeting Fury
Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK rival Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul win.
"[Paul] outshines Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer commented.
"I acknowledge that."
Serious Opponent
In spite of stating he plans to damage his opponent, Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his rival's boxing ability.
"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he stated.
Paul's History
Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.
He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.
Commercial Attraction
Still, the novice is still one of the sport's greatest commercial attractions, consistently making massive financial rewards.
Forecast and Belief
The 28-year-old forecast a KO victory in rounds four or five and asserted he would prevent the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly being planned for 2026.
"The next fight will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul declared.
Size Difference
As both boxers met for the customary face-off, with their physical disparity evident, it emphasized just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the bout is actually happening.
